Some people take a long time to make the plunge. For me it was always, ‘I will get there’, ‘One day’ and then ‘I should…’ Eventually, it becomes ‘Can’t be bothered…’
occasionally, we get an insight into what is ahead of us and at such moments, we can re-align with our aspirations. Being an author is one for me.
I have always wanted to do it but never really did. I do not mean just writing, but all the extra learning that goes into it getting published. Like, understanding the industry, knowing what options are available and finally deciding if you want your stories to be read.
Eventually, I got around to it and believe me once you get going it is very hard to stop. It is a daunting experience and requires dedication, focus and hard work. Most importantly, it requires support from all over the place, even from strangers.
I did get there in the end and all the input, criticisms and suggestions made my work even better than what it was. My gratitude knows no bounds to those who have helped, God’s blessings!
I do not know where the road will lead, but I like to think that getting to this point is an achievement. It was the goal I set for myself and I look forward to what happens next. I have already started another book and I am looking forward to having the experience with a new eye.
